Marcia Mount Shoop

MARCIA MOUNT SHOOP is the 4th generation in her family ordained to the ministry in the Presbyterian Church.  She has served churches in Chicago, IL, Tampa, FL, and Oakland, CA before moving to Chapel Hill with her family in 2007.  She has her Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt Divinity School and her PhD in Religious Studies from Emory University. 

In addition to the work she does at UPC, Marcia teaches, preaches, leads retreats, and works with the multicultural movement all around the PCUSA. Her book, Let the Bones Dance:  Embodiment and the Body of Christ, is a fall 2010 release from Westminster John Knox Press.
